Community Engagement

The purpose of the 9/11 Project is to bring community members together. The event draws students of all ages; political and business leaders; educators and elected officials; military, medical, fire, and police professionals. This event features an immersive visual experience, an educational career fair, and a touch-a-truck exhibit with live music and food trucks. Hundreds of volunteers work together collaboratively to make this memorable memorial come to life. Few community events have this level of depth and breadth for civic engagement.

Educational Opportunities

The 9/11 Project provides invaluable educational opportunities for young and old alike. Guests walk through an immersive timeline of events leading up to and through the tragic attacks of September 11, 2001. For those who lived through those events, the Project serves as a reminder of what happened. For those not yet alive in 2001, this event provides an insight into that tragedy and an awareness of the legacy of patriotism and brotherhood that rose out of the ashes that day.

Professional Career Fair

The 9/11 Project includes a career fair centered around military, medical, fire, police, civic, and educational professionals. Through the indoor booths and the outdoor parking lot exhibits, men and women from these communities can interact with members of the public and build a sense of trust and appreciation for their respective professions. The Project also introduces today’s young people to the possibility of joining these professions as part of their future career choices.

Service Showcase

Non-profit and service organizations are given complimentary booth space in which to demonstrate the services they provide. Not only does this serve to educate the public about the good work being done throughout our community; but it also provides opportunities for those same members of the public to get involved in that good work being done. Think of it as a service showcase and volunteer recruiting fair, with community service as the end goal for all involved.

Military Tribute

All branches of the United States Armed Services are invited to participate in the 9/11 Project. In addition to showcasing their professionalism and career options, members of the military interact with members of the public in a nonthreatening and nonconfrontational way. They are on hand to educate the public about the unique but collaborative missions of each branch of service. Once again, it is a chance for today’s adults to gain trust and appreciation while also planting seeds of career opportunities for tomorrow’s men and women in uniform.
